Nathan Detroit, a gambler, needs money for his floating crap game, so he bets Sky Masterson, another gambler, a thousand dollars that he can’t get Sarah Brown to go to Cuba with him. Sky finally gets Sarah, a “mission doll” dedicated to getting everyone to turn away from evil ways, convinced her to go to Cuba. Nathan is fighting with is fiancé, Adelaide who is a nightclub performer, about when they are going to get married. While in Cuba, Sky falls in love with Sarah and tries to change his gambling ways. When they get back to New York, Sky bets that if he wins the roll of the dice then all of the floating crap game members must go to church and repent. If he loses then he must pay each of them a thousand dollars. Sky ends up winning and so all of the gamblers have to go to church and repent. Nathan and Adelaide get married in the end.
