Students of Wallace County Schools were recognized January 20, 2012 for their Exemplary scores on the Kansas State Assessment tests given in 2011. The testing period is from February to April of each year. Reading assessments were given to grades 3-8 and 11. Grades 4, 7, and 10 were tested in science. Assessments in math were taken by grades 3-8 and 10. Social studies assessments may be given to grades 6, 8, and 11.
Fifty-three percent of all students from Wallace County Schools that participated in taking the assessments received at least one Exemplary score in one subject. There were 69 students, now in grades 4-12, that were given a certificate of recognition during the basketball games. This is an outstanding achievement for a total of 143 students tested, from the total enrollment of 211.
