Homecoming Candidates, Attendants & Coronation:
Student Council was in charge of Fall Homecoming activities. Candidates for Homecoming King and Queen were selected from the senior class by popular vote. This year’s homecoming king and queen candidates at Wallace County High School were Nick Basgall, Trevor Bieker, Carson Bertrand, Taylor Pearce, Doyle Pletcher, Kamee Benisch, Audrey Mote, Gabrielle Kuhlman, Kenzie Knobbe, and Jena Eder.
Last Thursday at the homecoming pep rally, Kenzie Knobbe was elected as queen and Nick Basgall was elected as king. The attendants from the Kindergarten class were Connor Kuhlman and Kendalyn Miller. At the pep rally on Thursday night, there was a food auction held for the ‘Classic Cats’ who are trying to buy costumes for their new show choir program. After the auction the cheerleaders had a few cheers and a dance. Then coronation was held. Candidates were introduced with a short biography read by Taylor Weinland and Kelley Van Laeys, members of Student Council.
At the end of the pep rally, each class performed their lip syncs, moving the lips in sychronization to a song of each classes choice. The lip syncs were first held and judged on Wednesday during AP.
Soup Supper:
The Booster Club held a soup supper on Thursday night of Homecoming week as a fundraiser. Community members donated the food so that all contributions go to the Booster Club and there were no expenses. These monies go to help buy garment bags, treats, and other things for the students of WCHS. Booster Club is working toward buying sun awnings and trophy cases for this school year.
