Grant Writing Accomplishments

By Taylor Compton

May 19, 2010

As the 2009-2010 school year comes to an end, the four girls who participated in the grant writing class are extremely proud of all their accomplishments they have achieved. The strenuous amount of effort put into all twenty-two grants that were written have taken more time than most would think, all with the hopes of earning money for the beloved cause they are being applied for. This class has allowed the individuals to extend their vocabulary into new levels, and as the year progressed it was all too easy to write and essay “from scratch” for an application. The grants being applied for have been for a wide variety of improvements for not only our school, but the community as well. For example, new music instruments, funding to help keep Crosspoint Ministries up and running, recycling grants, the 4-H improvement project, and many more. Although most of the applications have been respectfully declined, the girls have been awarded a grand total of $7594.00, and there are still many grants with a pending status, so everyone keep your fingers crossed!
