High School

Midnight In Paris

by Darby Magwire

May 11, 2010

Midnight in Paris was the theme for prom of 2010, while the Junior Class of 2011 was busy at work setting up for prom.  The other students of Wallace County High School were busy shopping for their prom outfits. At the Wallace County High School’s promenade there was a variety of color; from white and black tuxedos to pink and black zebra striped dresses.      Here at Wallace County High School the Prom King and Queen are decided by the junior class of that year. They first take a vote, then they tally the votes to see who won. This year at Wallace County High School the junior class had 10 students. The prom king and queen are seniors from that year.
This year at Wallace County High School we had a very unusual thing happen.  We had two prom Queens and a prom King.  The queens were Audrey Mote and Gabrielle Kuhlman, while very lucky Taylor Pearce got the sole honor of being prom king.  Taylor Pearce got to dance with both stunning ladies, but couldn’t dance with both of them at the same time.  Luckily Taylor Pearce had a very willing Carson Bertrand to step up and be his backup.  Let’s just say that the king’s crown had a very busy night on April 17.
The after prom party was held at the Strand Theater.  Sponsored by Janine Baehler, JoAnna Basgall, and Inga Sloan.  The movie that was played at the after prom party was “The Lovely Bones.”  The kids that attended the after prom party got popcorn and a drink.  “The after prom party was some good late fun,” quoted Cody Pearce.
