Biographical Information

I grew up on a farm in north central Kansas next to the Nebraska state line. I first attended a two room country school with only 2 people in my class. They closed it after 4th grade and I went to Republic, KS through 8th grade. I attended high school and graduated from Belleville, KS. After high school, I attended the University of Kansas for 2 years before going into business management for a pizza delivery business.

In 1980, I married my wife Carolyn and began working with her father as a jeweler following my completion of training at the Kansas City School of Watchmaking. We lived in Beloit, KS during this time until 1993.

While in Beloit, I began coaching at St. John's High School. During this time, I returned to school and got a teaching degree from Marymount College in Salina, KS.

In 1993, my family moved to Ellis, KS, where I was a high school Math teacher, volleyball coach, and high school girl's basketball coach. I received my Master's degree in Instructional Technology from Fort Hays State University. In 1997, I became the Director of Technology for USD 388 in Ellis. I got my Master's degree in school administration in 2001 and became Director of Curriculum & Technology for USD 388 in 2005.

I moved to Sharon Springs in July of 2008 to begin my career as a Superintendent and K-8 Principal.

I have four children; Kimberly-26, Christopher-23, Michael-18, and Stephanie-16.
